Doldrums

I can't just help myself.

I haven't trained in Crossfit this week due to my hip setback. I promised myself not to look at the WODs (workout of the day), but I just can't help myself. Just one week without training and I'm pining over Crossfit like a lost puppy.

Please...don't tell me how sorry you are. Things aren't really so bad. I'm just feeling a little down and I need to vent. This week no doubt I'll go through a whole gamit of emotions. Hey...I've been told that I just can't run, jump, squat below 90deg...in the big scheme of things, that's not too bad. There's still alot I can do. Nearly 4 years ago now, I couldn't even lift my leg to get into the shower, or hardly walk. I've come a long way, and I need to remind myself just how far I've come.

After seeing the chinese doc, I felt great, and even though my hip mobility has returned, I'm still sore through the hip joint. It's just an aching, but it's enough to have me feel unlike myself.

I've been scouring the CF Journal posts and videos under 'medical/injuries' and 'exercise physiology'. It's important for me to find solutions and information about my particular injury/problems. It helps keep me positive and gives me hope that I can always overcome. I found some great little videos regarding injuries and training with injuries. I've decided I'm going back to training next week. I know there's alot I can do, despite this hip. I just have to scale and modify.

Anyway...the video above is of the Crossfit Australasian Qualifiers, held in July last year. CF competitons haven't really been on the agenda, but I was even entertaining the possibility of trying my first one at the end of the year. That was until recently. It's the furtherest thing from my mind now, and my sole objective is JUST TO TRAIN!

I was a bit pissed because I was just starting to feel great in my CF sessions and picking up in consistency again, and then WHAM! So I return to training this coming week very apprehensively. More than likely, the feeling will be shortlived. It's never as bad as what I envisage.

Well, that's it. Sorry about the vent, but I thought what the hell. Everyone seems to have f*#ed off elsewhere in blogland for the time being. I'm not ready to do that yet. I still feel the need to bore all of you to death, while I work out my demons and frustrations. :P

P.S. Today CF Brisbane is holding the Qld Sectional Qualifier. I've attached the link to the Crossfit Games site, detailing the WODs for today, if you want to check it out.

Tik Tok

Feeling great! It's amazing how crappy I felt at the start of the week, and how the break has got me jumping out of my skin. I'm going to need all that energy for tonight for today's Crossfit WOD.

Listening to Ke$ha...
Tik Tok...that's how energetic I'm feeling. Wish I could feel like this all the time. So gotta take advantage of this burst of energy.

I'm still a fair way from reaching any real and lasting intensity as far as my training. It's building and there's this feeling inside me at the moment like a slow, steady, build of energy and intensity. I think it will take me about until mid-year to reach my Zenith, and I'm banking on the last six months is when I'm going to achieve my best me for 2010....a lean, mean, fighting machine, and staring down the barrel of Sexy Bitch (that's the hope and intent anyway..hee..hee...)!

The Child Within...

I was thinking about having more photos taken when I'm a 'Sexy Bitch'. I thought more photos would be a great incentive and reward at the end of this year.

Ainslie has a beautiful music intro to her Wildspirit photography website. It really took my thoughts away to somewhere magical...
My favourite photo is of the little girl in the red dress, holding her face up to the sky...I hope you enjoy this little intro and it takes you away somewhere magical. Have a great week! :)

A Day of Spontaneity

Today we did something spontaneous. We went for a short bushwalk at Mt Tamborine. I was thinking about it doing something yesterday as a family. And I wanted to take Philomena on her first bushwalk and introduce her to rainforests.

As she gets older, I'd like her to experience more things outdoor. It not only gets her out of the house and more active, but I think it's important for her to appreciate nature, with all its' beauty and wonders.

It was only a short walk, about an hour return (with a small child whom are known for their dawdling abilities) or so out to Cameron Falls. She really loved it, and the fact that she could just keep going and going and there so was so much to absorb her senses was lovely to see. All the new smells, sounds and sights really captured her imagination. It's good to stop every now and again and just listen. So often when you walk, you're so busy walking and talking, you never get a real feel for nature...it's important just to be still. Of course, with a child, you can only stay still for a short period, but it's long enough to get your point across.

Philomena just loved the 'mud'. I knew it was going to be a bit muddy on the walk, so I made sure she wore her trusty gumboots. She wanted to stay a bit longer to splash in the water, but we didn't have much time today. It was more of an introduction, and anyway, there was a bit of rumbling going on, and a storm was approaching, so we couldn't dawdle for too much longer. We made it back in time to eat our lunch in the car, as it had started to rain, and then head of home, driving through heavy rain. We were supposed to have a lovely picnic lunch and play some cricket and soccer, but that wasn't to be. Oh well...the walk was lovely and Anthony got to relax a little with a coffee (he didn't join us on our walk).

So I've decided our next stint we'll take Philomena to Cedar Creek Falls. I haven't been there for years and it's the best place for kids. Lots of beautiful rock pools and a waterfall where we can swim and slide down the rocks. I'm sure Philomena will love it just as much as I do!

Anyway...I'm glad we did something spontaneous. We don't do enough of that really. When you have little kids, it's a little harder to do because you have to be so organised. But also, you get a little lazy too...I know I do anyway.

Well that's about it. Tomorrow marks the first day of training, as I start to get into my schedule for 2010. I'll be starting off slowly for January and building up to 3 Crossfit sessions per week. Depending on what type of session we do, it can take me days to recover. Also, after my first bit of running proper (jogging actually) last week since Kapooka, my RHS hip was all stiff and sore, which means the muscles have weakened quite considerably around the hip joint. I was rather annoyed and feeling decrepit all of a sudden. So I will have to halve the amount of time I'm jogging in ratio to walking this week. It might be better for me to decrease the time and increase the frequency at first and gradually build up to a time, and then increase the intensity once I can build up the time without any repercussions.

I hope everyone has started on the right foot for 2010! Have a great week all, and as LizN has said in one of her recent posts...JUST DO IT! I'm sought of leaning toward that this year as part of mixing things up a little and just keeping things moving.

Beautiful Blogger Award

Okay...I've been tagged by the lovely Raechelle! I have to share 7 things about myself. And I have to tag seven others. Here goes...

  1. I was AW's martial arts instructor when I met him originally (when he was only 18).
  2. I was adopted at birth, and I had to be moved around PNG and finally brought to Australia, so my tribal people could not find me.
  3. I can speak basic Mandarin Chinese.
  4. My joints are hypermobile (I'm very flexible), or what people called 'double-jointed'.
  5. My nickname at school was 'Piggy'. Firstly because my maiden name was Piggott, but also because I've always loved my food...lol...
  6. I played netball (and softball) right through primary school and high school and represented Brisbane for a short stint.
  7. My first boyfriend I ever had, was when I was 21 and he was 18yrs my senior.

And here are seven fellow bloggers that I am tagging...

  • Carolyn
  • Tracey (W)
  • Rachel (P)
  • LizN (just saw you've already been tagged!)
  • Em
  • Sue
  • Nicole

Have a fantastic New Years everyone and bring on 2010...Year of the Sexy Bitches! :P

Deletion of Post

Thanks Em and Hilary for your comments. Much appreciative of them, and Em, you were right about looking at why. I feel terribly guilty for airing out such a personal thing, especially when it comes to AW. He is a wonderful husband, and it seems I lacked the sensitivity and maturity to allow him time to explain himself. I got an email after I posted, and felt like the worse person in the world. Yes, it was more about him and what he is going through and has admitted that he may be suffering from depression and needs to find some help. I feel stupid for not recognising this. He said that Philomena and I are the MOST important thing to him in the world. So I congratulate AW on making such an admission, and at least we can start to work on some issues. Thanks for listening guys.

This Made Me Think of You Frankie...

And just to clarify...it was online dating, that made me think of Frankie, and the fact that reading this gave me a chuckle. And like Frankie's posts which relate to dating, stalking, whatever...I can never click over fast enough to read about what exciting drama is happening in her life, and enjoy a chuckle. Love ya work Frankie!

Different Kind of er...Funky

It's 4:30am, and I can't sleep.

I went out with my (school) friends last night for Terasa's birthday celebrations, and had my free meal, which I'd been saving up for 2 weeks. I didn't even have anything really disgusting, and I haven't been able to sleep because of gas...fe-euwww!

All I had was curly fries; a beautiful avocado and crumbed mushroom salad; Mississippi Mud cake with cream and ice-cream (hmmm...that may have been the culprit), and a cappucino. And my stomach has been rumbling ever since. So I thought I'd share it with my blog friends...he...he....shows how special I think you guys are...*wink *wink *click of the tongue...

No use rolling around in bed awake. Luckily Philomena decided to crash in our bed, and Anthony has swapped. Cause at least the noises and smells won't worry little Miss Phil (cause she's like her mum and just as noisy and smelly...he...he...poor AW).

I think I'm going to be stuffed tomorrow. I'll be catching trains today...Army Enlistment ceremony this morning and then PINK concert tonight! Woohoo! I got a surprise message this morning on FB from a fellow IBO'er asking me if I wanted to go (cause her daughter is sick) tonight. I was absolutely stoked! How could I pass up such a wonderful gesture? Apparently it was spontaneous - so it makes it even more special. Now I haven't actually met her in person, but I am so looking forward to it, and meeting her family. It's times like these that I am humbled and grateful for all the wonderful friendships and connections that I've made through Ideal Bodies Online, including meeting alot of amazing people, even if it is only in blogland!

Have a great day! Oh...and if you bump into me today somewhere....be afraid...be very afraid...buahhhaahaahaa....

"The World is a Wonderful Place..."

Daydreaming
by Mr Daydream

The summer sun is shining in the bright blue sky;
The clouds are white as cotton as they float on by…
And the world is a wonderful place to daydream in.

The flowers gently blossom and swallows glide;
The stream is slow and lazy, wandering through the countryside…
For the world is a wonderful place to daydream in.

Daydreaming…daydreaming…Daydreaming the Days away

The autumn leaves are tumbling down from sleeping trees;
The fields are brown and empty in the autumn breeze…
And the world is a wonderful place to daydream in.

The harvesting is over and the birds have flown;
The dark of early evening and the log fires in the home…
For the world is a wonderful place to daydream in.

Daydreaming…daydreaming…Daydreaming the Days away

The winter snow is drifting and the world is white;
The trees are frozen statues and the stars shine bright at night…
And the world is a wonderful place to daydream in.

The children are all waiting for this Christmas time;
The holly and the ivy and the church bells’ merry chime…
For the world is a wonderful place to daydream in.

Daydreaming…daydreaming…Daydreaming the Days away

The grass comes out to see why the spring’s called spring;
The daffodil, the crocus and the spring is happening…
And the world is a wonderful place to daydream in.

The new life is awakening in the pale new sun;
The flowers show their petals and the spiders’ web is spun…
For the world is a wonderful place to daydream in.

Daydreaming…daydreaming…Daydreaming the Days away

Feeling great today. Enjoy your day...Little Miss Sunshine. :)

Singing in the Rain

"I'm singing in the rain
Just singing in the rain
What a glorious feelin'
I'm happy again
I'm laughing at clouds
So dark up above
The sun's in my heart
And I'm ready for love
Let the stormy clouds chase
Everyone from the place
Come on with the rain
I've a smile on my face
I walk down the lane
With a happy refrain
Just singin',
Singin' in the rain
Dancin' in the rain"

Well that's how I was feeling today...in the rain.

However...before that, I rocked up at the gym today, all pumped up and rarin' to go. Got there. Not a car in sight, shutters down on the front entrance, thinking...WTF? Bloody idiot...got the opening hours today wrong....arghhhh! Drove to a gym closer to home...still no luck. So anyway...it's pouring down and I'm thinking...what the hell do I do? Then I came up with an alternative...a walk in the rain.

Now I just love walking in the rain - don't you?

So today, instead of weights, I opted for a cardio session...outdoor backpack walk. I hadn't actually been able to get around to doing one as yet, so I thought...why not? Perfect weather to start getting me used to what it may be like in Kapooka (except for the cold)...I was pumped...I needed to expend some energy...perfect! So I loaded up my backpack, and I thought I should start with a sensible weight, remembering the physio's last words..."listen to your body", and not wanting any injury de ja vu situations. So anyway...I loaded my pack up with 15kg (max. advised by physio for this week), and went to put it on my back. Needless to say, the words 'holy crap' issued forth from my mouth, and I had to re-think the starting weight. So I started out with 10kg, thinking about how much Cherie Horne carries for her mountain treks, thinking to myself...what a bloody wuss!

But...I have to start somewhere. The thought of carrying 20+ kilos suddenly made me realise how important it was going to be to do these walks. I then thought about having to wear boots as well, and it all became clear to me why I was starting to prepare myself now.

You see...when I first put on the pack, I had to lean forward to counter-balance the pack. I then started to walk and I had to change my gait and really concentrate on those core muscles and ensure I was using my legs, rather than leaning forward and using my back. After about 5 minutes I started to get used to the weight in my pack and how I needed to walk, and then it was relatively easy.

Anyway...the rain wasn't too heavy, just a drizzle really. But at one stage it started to pelt down and I felt this big smile come across my face and lifted it to the sky to feel the rain on my face. Ahhhh...haven't done that for ages. I'd forgotten how good it felt to be out in the rain, getting drenched. I felt like Gene Kelly and wanted to 'sing in the rain', which I did. But the good thing is that noboby can hear you when you're walking in the rain (luckily for them).

I then started to think about doing some harder pack walks with increased weight, in heavy, continuous rain, maybe a bushtrail where it's more muddy and the terrain more challenging, and I got really excited. I used to do bushwalking fairly regularly, and haven't done it for ages, and I love being outside up in the mountains. There's a real feeling of peace and the freedom that comes with being outdoors and I've really missed that. Sometimes we get so caught up in making life more comfortable, that we forget that some of the best and most rewarding times are to be had when we're prepared to step out of our comfort zones, experience the elements, and challenge ourselves in ways we never considered before. Now to me, that's exciting.

Well by the time I got home, my shoulders were pretty sore...but I was happy as a pig in mud! And then something weird happened....I took off my pack and went to walk and my body instantly shot forward into a lean. I felt like a character out of 'Thunderbirds'. You know...the feeling that someone else above is pulling the strings and making your body move without your knowing. It took me a few minutes to regain my upright posture.

Gotta do another back pack walk soon I think...hope it's raining!

Lorna Jane wear...to Sell or Not to Sell?

Yesterday, I had all but decided to sell my Lorna Jane wear. I only have 3 (gym wear) pieces, and I bought them specifically for my photo shoot back in January. So they're only a couple of months old.

So why did I want to sell them? Well...to be honest, probably the main reason I wanted to sell them is because I feel a little self-conscious in them, especially wearing them in the gym... which I've only done once BTW. Self-conscious in the sense that I might look good in them. Sounds strange doesn't it? You dream of being able to wear this gear and flaunt the fact that you can wear it, and then when the day finally arrives, you feel uncomfortable because people are staring at you (especially the guys), and they're not necessarily staring at your muscles I don't think (picture doing tricep kickbacks, bent over on the bench...get my drift?).

In the context of things, it's no big deal, so why do I make such a big deal out of it? I've seen alot of women wearing alot less (in the way of material), and showing alot more (in the way of flesh), and they didn't necessarily have Elle Macpherson's body type...ya know?...muffin tops, cellulite city wearing white lycra tights with g-strings and sporting legs like tree trunks (not being horrible or anything, but it's true!), etc...ya know?...stuff you see and you just shake your head and ask yourself "why?".

So there...that's how I feel about it.

Anyway...asked my hubby to take pics this morning so I could post my LJ gear up on the blog and forum to see if I could sell them, as I didn't think I'd have any trouble selling them. When I told him why I wanted the pics taken he asked why was I selling them. I told him, and you know what he said (to my surprise)..."Kerry, why don't you wear it to the gym? I've seen other women in worse gear (he has a hard time sometimes speaking in the positive). What are you worried about?" To which I replied, "Doesn't it worry you that I could be wearing this stuff and the guys are looking at my butt?". To which he replied, "No...I'm not at the gym while you're training. And besides, you wear short skirts out in public and I don't worry about that, do I?" (he personally likes seeing me in my short denim skirt).

So...I've decided NOT TO SELL (sorry, anybody who was ringing their hands in anticipation, cause I was going to sell them at 50% off!). So inspired was I by hubby's comments (he added some more positive comments which I can't repeat), that I've decided to wear my LJ gear tonight! Not such a sweaty session - upper body and a little cardio.

Ciao for now...Kerry :)

P.S. I won't be the wearing the crop top to the gym, unless it's under a shirt.

You Asked for it Frankie!

Hey Frankie...I didn't forget. Here's those pics I promised of my 40th birthday weekend bash. I know...not really 'risque', but a good time was had by all. We ended our weekend with fish' n 'chips and a temporary tattoo to surprise the boys when we got home. That's about as daring as I get...lol...

Feeling Ordinary

Yep! Dont' know what happened, but yesterday afternoon I started feeling rather 'off', to say the least. Got worse as the afternoon wore on. This is very unusual for me. I don't think I've felt like this for over 6 months. I've had time off training for recovery, to do with fatigue, but haven't actually been sick.

So no training for me last night, which is rather annoying, as I've already had to re-arrange my training due to a couple of things that have come up unexpectedly, that I just can't get around. So my main aim this week is to get in all my weights sessions, and I should be able to get in a couple of cardio sessions. It's just annoying!

I had a bit of a fever last night and woke up in a sweat, so obviously something was up. But feeling fine this morning and off to the gym tonight!

Ciao for now...Kerry :)

They Won't Have Problems Finding your Veins!

Isn't it funny what we get embarrassed about? I remember when I was training in martial arts and was pretty fit, I used to get alot of comments about my biceps - especially from my male students. And recently, I had met one of my ex-students, who trained under me as a young boy, until he finished high school. He is now a tall, strapping young man and is in the Airforce. A born leader, and beautiful young man, who is into extreme sport (and now cage-fighting, which I can't really take to), I can say I am very proud to have taught him. Anyway...when we met again recently, he commented on how good a shape I was in, and then said, "you always did have big guns". Of course, my guns aren't as big as they were back in my training days, but they'll get there.

When I stacked on the weight, I no longer had big guns, but had 'tuckshop arms'. OMG, I hated those flabby arms, which were once something to be proud about - and to think....I used to be embarassed because I had big guns! I swore that when I got rid of those tuckshop arms, I'd never again be embarrassed to have nice, muscular biceps. And now that I have them - I love them! No more tuckshop arms - I'm proud to wear them (biceps).

Now something else that I'm getting alot of comments on lately, and more now from strangers, is...my veins.

I always was vascular, and now that I've reduced my bodyfat considerably, my arms are very vascular. The vein going up the bicep is also becoming quite visible. So now I get alot of stares, and, alot of comments. And this one really takes the cake...took my little girl to tiny tots gym today, and they had to swing on a bar like a monkey. Miss Phil wanted me to do it with her, but I told her no (it was only toddler sized). A women whose little girl was next to Miss Phil on the bar commented "with those veins popping out, you shouldn't have any problems"! What the ???? I could only drop my jaw, as I didn't know what to say, and was very confused as to what my veins had to do with swinging on a bar like a monkey.

Anyway...when it comes down to it, even though it's a little off-putting to have people staring at my arms, I now think of it like this...better to have people staring at me because I'm muscular, as opposed to being fat and having tuckshop arms!

40th Birthday Celebrations

What a big week it's been! I've been so busy, and with such a full weekend, it left little time for cleaning, washing and shopping. Hubby had a busy day on Monday, was late home and had to leave early for Warwick the next morning, so it was finished off with a late night at the gym, followed by shopping (which I just made in the nick of time), and home to prepare meals 5 and 6, which were consumed at 9:30pm and 10pm respectively! Went to bed exhausted, and with a very full belly, as I couldn't hang out any longer, and hit the sack at about 10:30pm. Prior to that, I didn't get home until 7pm on Sunday, so the shops were shut, and there was no food in the fridge! I just scraped in with my meals on Monday, let me tell ya!

Anyway...the weekend? FABULOUS! The top picky is us just before leaving Brisbane. The second is the view from our balcony, overlooking Kings Beach, and the third pic is Friday night's meal...grilled salmon and salad with poppyseed and honey mustard dressing, accompanied by fresh paw paw with mango dressing...yummmy!

I will share more pics when I get them from my girlfriends. Friday night dinner just wasn't complete until the girls dressed me up in a tiara, purple boa and dazzling sunglasses encrusted with purple and variously coloured glitter, before embarking on our birthday dinner. Picture 'Priscilla - Queen of the Desert', and that will give you a rough idea of what I looked like! There were plenty of strange looks to be had.

The weather was just perfect! I can't believe our luck. Had a late night Friday night, and after wearily watching the DVD, 'The Holiday' and drooling over Jude Law, and saying how georgeous Cameron Diaz is, I hit the sack at about 1am. Meanwhile, a couple of the gals were making alot of noise in the main BR, hitting some terrible notes on 'Songstar'. So we just turned up the volume...he...he...

I woke up at 5am (would you believe...gosh I hate that), and couldn't get back to sleep so I decided to go for a brisk walk around to Bulcock beach and back, followed by a refreshing swim in the surf. Did that the next morning too, and made the most of the sun and surf. I could definitely live by the coast - the lifestyle is so bohemian!

There was alot of fun to be had by all...shopping and lunch in Montville...shopping and lunch in Caloundra...alot of cocktails consumed (by the girls)...a new wine for me - Brown Brothers Zebbebo - very nice with tropical fruit juice...more food...swimming...alot of chatting (as we do)...more shopping at the Caloundra markets on Sunday morning, and finished off with good old fish and chips by the water, before heading off home. Ahhhhh...very pleasant indeed, though 3 days is just not long enough. We're planning a week next time!

Can't Keep My Hands Out the Cookie Jar...

No...I'm not referring to anything related to food!

You see...I'm in denial about getting older. Not so much about the biological age, but physically, and also in relation to my psyche.

You know how some people do different things, like buying a racy new sports car; hitting the nightclubs with the young, hip chicks; having cosmetic surgery or procedures? I think there's a word for it...MID-LIFE CRISIS...

There's no way that turning 40 has changed me (yet). I've felt like this for some time, and that was a big motivation for me to get fit again. My last chance to look and feel shit-hot before nature takes its' course.

Anyway...where is this leading? All I wanted to do was share with you a pop/hip-hop tune that I love. Yeah...it's kinda rappy and shallow, but I love it! You see...I decided, in order to move forward I needed to discard some things from my past, and I thought it was about time I (temporarily) wave goodbye to my 'daggy oldy' music. Now, don't get me wrong, I still love my daggy oldy music (as my husband calls it - cause he's younger than me), but it just wasn't cutting it for me in the gym. I've found I really love this shallow, hip/hop music, because it really gets me in the zone for some serious butt kicking training sessions.

Here's the link..."Cookie Jar" - Gym Class Heroes...

http://www.pp2g.tv/vZHF9YnE_.aspx#

Hope it works - I still don't have sound on my computer ATM. Other shallow music I love ATM..."Poker Face" - Lady GaGa..."Right Now" - Akon..."Live your Life"...T.I feat. Rihanna. Just can't get enough of this music at the moment...gets me pumped!

Ciao for now...Kerry :)

I'm gonna need all the help I can get. Just got my new program...yikes! Secretly...looking forward to the thrashing. :)

New Look Blog

Hi All

I'm just experimenting with this new look blog. The photo is there until I get my real ones. I had to change the width of the photo, because the previous template came through if I tried to keep the correct ratio...hence...shoulders appear wider than what they really are!

Thanks Essie for the idea...I really love the look of your blog, and when you posted this pic on it, I thought how great it would look on a black background. Though I still prefer black fonts on white backgrounds for myself personally.

I think I'll update my side photo as well. I'm thinking about changing my title too and making it more interesting. Like Essie's title..."Shrinking in the Rain"...I love it, though I have no idea what it means. I'd love to know Essie if you read this. It has me intrigued, as I still can't work it out. Maybe something to do with how clothes can shrink when they get wet - maybe a metaphor for how you (Essie) can shrink too?? Don't know, but you have me baffled.

Okay...I might still be doing a bit of experimenting until I'm completely happy with the look and the change, so bear with me!

Ciao for now...Kerry :)

Always Wanted to Wear This...

I'm always experimenting with the self-timer option on my camera. I keep telling the girls how vain I am, so here I am again at it today. Of course, Philomena gets in alot of practice too, as she tries to muscle in on the act!

Yes...I've always wanted to wear one of these hot little denim skirts...and now I can! :)

Though hubby has said that he'd prefer me to wear them around the house as opposed to wearing them in public...he...he...

Had my practice spray tan yesterday. Depletion starts tomorrow (water only), plus weigh-in and measurements...8 more sleeps til photos...can't wait!

Ciao for now...Kerry :)

Gym Soapies (Girls only)

You know...I can't think of any soapies that revolve around 'life in the gym'. I'm not just talking about what happens between the staff, but what happens between the staff and members, and members and other members. And I'd love to know what other people are thinking in the gym! How cool would that be? A bit like that movie with Mel Gibson...What Women Want.

The reason I wonder is because I know all the stuff that goes through my head - if people only knew they'd think I'm insane. I mean, I'm so focused at the gym. I'm also courteous and polite. If anyone smiles or says hallo - I smile back. But on the whole, I look like I shut everything out and I am a little intense. I mean, I concentrate on what I'm doing. That's why I get results. But there is such a thing as 'peripheral vision' and 'peripheral hearing', and it's something I'm very good at.

Firstly girls...you'll know what I mean when I say...eye candy. Hell, plenty of that on offer! I mean, you can't help but look can you? Even if it's a quick, shifty, side glance to get an overall impression, and then just a few more quick shots to really assess the best bits, and lastly... filling up with more of the good stuff I reckon...hot damn...heh...heh...

And then there comes the critiquing...hmmm...nice butt...great upper body but shame about the chicken legs (do some squats why don't you)...biceps like boulders, perfect pecs, and a ....what the hell? ...beergut? ah..ah..not a good look!

Oh! And what about males stroking eachother's egos. You know...like the cool (so they think), secret, rappy, handshakes and the "how's it goin' bro?"..."how dem delts doin bro?"..."dats nuttin - f***in hit me in the f***in guts man. It ain't gonna hurt". Too many a dose rap music clips me thinks...LOL...
And talking about rap music...those I-Tune clips should be classified 'x-rated', or at least 'soft porn'. I've never seen so many near-naked, black, booty gyrating women being ogled by black, rappy, illiterate (with songs like Dance Wiv Me, is it any wonder), sex-starved, chest-pounding males. Don't get me wrong, I love the music - gets me pumped during my workouts - let me tell ya! Oh well...who said I was looking for intelligence...I'm just looking.

OMG...I hate to think what men are saying about the women. Especially the ones with the big t**s and tight clothes, swaggering their little behinds. It's funny watching the men...their heads moving and following the swagger. Reminds me of those circus sideshow clowns that move their heads like the mexican wave, with their gobs open. Hey...at least women are a little more discreet.

And then there's the women's gym fashions, or should I say...fashion faux pas...so to speak...I can't get over some of the women with the tight, tight, little tops and bike pants, sporting those 'overhangs' and wearing highly visible lingerie bras that are meant for 'seduction' not 'sport', with their t***s saying "how do you do?". Or they bend over, with their g-strings playing the same tune.

Lastly...there's the aromas..."mmmm...he smells so good I could I eat him"..."she's wearing Dove tanning glow" ( I know cause I wear it and it smells good)..."he's wearing Lynx"..."he's wearing Hugo Boss (I know cause my hubby wears it), and I want to stick my nose in his chest and soak him up!"..."she smells like coconuts". And I don't want to talk about the unpleasant smells...we won't go there. Too nasty...enough to make me heave!

Well lucky for me, we don't know what people are thinking at the gym. Hmmm...I've had a few fantasies myself and it's nothing I would disclose...but...maybe I could become a 'Mills and Boons' novelist (or a porn film director...ha...ha...ha!).

Ciao for now...Kerry :)
