One of my Secrets to Staying Motivated...
No...it's not dancing, though this is how I feel when I listen to MUSIC that gets me pumped! This is what gets me started EVERY DAY, and helps to keep me motivated. I make sure I 'shoot up' on this stuff on a regular basis - it keeps me on a constant high! My fave music ATM is Hilltop Hoods, and my favourite song is 'Chris Farley'.
So...what gets you started EVERY DAY and ready to take on the world with gusto? What makes you want to jump out of bed? Because if there isn't anything that gets you excited about life (and I don't mean the music), maybe it's time to start looking!

Well, Kerry - I can't say I'm overly thrilled by waking at 2am (as was the case this morning). I clearly need way more than 5 hrs sleep. I need more like 9 hrs. I'll let you do the math and work out how much sleep debt I'm in... Hint: It's been goin' on for over two months now.
My theory is I'm too excited about life! But, specifically about my training for my Nepal trek/climb.
I love music too, but at the early hrs of the morning when no one else is up, I just play my iPod. I'm liking dance music now and hip hop as well as Lady GaGa and Pink.
I love my two PT sessions I have a week with Gav - we train in the morning at about 8am. Though when I've already been up for 4-5 hrs and am really tired I just giggle all the time. He tries to get angry at me but it doesn't work. He just laughs at me. It's fun. I still work hard. Just laugh at same time :)
Coffee...that definitely gets me excited to get out of bed...LOL then the thought of a great workout or good trot with the dog (whichever day it is)...
and of course love my good tunes for hopping on the tready in the arvo! If I'm burnt out on my tunes...the tready is just not as inviting-especially in these hotter months.
Cheers! Have a great weekend!
well sometimes what helps me stay on track is just reading what everyone else is doing you know positive rubs off on ya kind thing. I also love music, i really crank the tunes to get into the weight training otherwise I just don't get into it properly. I am grateful for my mini home gym too its so much easier than having to share equipment and 'go' to the gym and pay money there. :D stingy!
Sometimes like today I am doing extra weight training up to leaving for home/xmas (Adelaide) i needed to read your blog for motivation. So thank you Kerry! :D
PS: have an awesome christmas and new years. Thank you so much for your continual and seemingly unconditional support thru blog land. It has been such a pleasure getting to know you! XO big hugs.
Good question & one that I can't answer straight up. I'll have to go and think about, 'cause basically I just get up. :)
I'm sorry to hear about your lack of sleep Jules. For me personally, I don't function well at all with little sleep, so I give credit to those who do and still put on a happy face. Your problem sounds similar to hubby's...brain is constantly ticking even when he's sleeping. Sounds like you have a great attitude Jules - keep it up, and keep having fun!
Ha, ha Raechelle...coffee hey? Who would've thought. Though I did have to have a coffee to start the day yesterday. :) Good tunes are always conducive to better workouts. I especially found this when I got on the tready at the gym.
Yes Em, I get alot of motivation from reading other people's blogs too. I think it's important to surround yourself with like-minded people (even if it's not face-to-face). What music do you listen to?
Home gym...lucky duck! That's my wish for this year, to fit out our carport so I can train more at home. It's also a bit like a den (for a man). It's like your own secret hideaway! You'll have to post some pics. I wouldn't mind some ideas.
And have an AWESOME Christmas & New Year yourself! :) It's been equally great getting to know you. ;)
Robyn...looking forward to finding out how you answer the question. :P
